Description

SEED PRODUCTION: Runner beans readily cross-pollinate. Allow beans to dry in pod until they rattle. Clean and save in cool, dark, dry location.

CULTURE: Plant seeds after last frost when soil reaches 60°F. Beans prosper in rich, light, well-drained soil with warm temperature and full sun. Use seed inoculant to provide rhizobium bacteria to fix nitrogen near roots and increase yields. Avoid top watering if possible. Water consistently throughout season.

SUGGESTED individual portion: 1/4 cup
