Zea Mays. Dent. The most popular open-pollinated yellow variety grown in the 20th centruy. Deep yellow color, with a reddish tinge. 12ft tall plants produce fat 10″ ears with 16 to 22 rows. Excellent for roasting or frying. Good for hominy, masa, harina, posole, and cornbread. Matures in 100 days

CULTURE: Plant seeds in late spring after soil reaches 60°F and has somewhat dried. Corn demands soil high in nitrogen and phosphorus. Plant in blocks with at least 4 rows, or in circles, to assure pollination. Hill around mature plants to cover shallow roots and anchor them in high winds.

WATER: Water consistently.
