California’s state flower. One of the easiest and brightest additions to a wildflower garden. Brilliant, golden-orange blossoms appear early and remain until first snow. Easy to grow. 12-18″.
SUN: Prefers full sun.
SOIL: Provide well-drained, even sandy soil.
WATER: Water seeds immediately after planting and and keep moist for 2-4 weeks while germination takes place. Important: During this time, do not let seeds dry out! Drought tolerant once established, yet consistent watering is necessary to prolong blossoming.
PLANTING: Hand sow by covering seeds with 1/4″ soil. Lightly raking large areas seems to work well. Great addition to wildflower mixes.
