Hardy with ruffled, blue-green leaves. Easy to mulch for winter storage in the garden. Companion plants include dill, chamomile, sage, peppermint, beets and onions.
CULTURE: Plant seeds in flats 4-7 weeks early, or after soil reaches 50° F.
SOIL: Prefers soil high in nitrogen and phosphorus. Fall crop can be planted 2-3 months before growing season ends.
WATER: Water frequently and consistently throughout growing season.
INSECTS AND DISEASES: Control cabbage worms with Bacillus thuringiensis and aphids with pyrethrum.
