Pisum arvense. Survives winters to provide nutritious spring greens. Excellent cover crop to help protect the soil, then replace biomass and replenish nitrogen without regenerating a new crop. Is drought tolerant, and fast growing. Will scavenge phosphorus from soil for easier access for next crop.

Description

CULTURE: Plant seeds anytime, excellent winter cover. Hand sow by covering seeds with 1/2″ of soil.

COVER CROP: Mow or cut down when flowers pop or if ready for next crop. Allow to die then till or turn over into the top soil.

SUN: Partial-to-full sun.

SOIL: Tolerates the widest range of soils, including clay. A natural soil conditioner.

WATER: Water seeds immediately after planting and keep moist for 2 weeks while germination takes place. Important: During this time, do not let seeds dry out! Drought tolerant once established, yet consistent watering is necessary for the best results.
