Description
DETERMINATE v. INDETERMINATE: Bush tomatoes (determinate) generally grow to a height of 2-3 feet tall and the fruit will ripen within a close window. These tomatoes generally are an annual plant. Bush tomatoes are ideal to grow in pots or for small space gardening. The size and taste of the tomato are comparable to larger tomato plants.
CULTURE: Plant seeds in flats 6-8 weeks early. Allow for unrestricted growth. Transplant when ready, or growth can be stunted.
SUN: Provide plenty of light to avoid tall, leggy growth.
WATER: Avoid top-watering with cold water.
SOIL: Prefers well-composted, slightly acidic, calcium-rich soil.
SEED PRODUCTION: Tomatoes produce perfect, self-pollinating flowers. Different varieties can be grown for seed in one garden if separated with flowering crop.
SUGGESTED Individual Portion: 1 Teaspoon.
